The Show is encouraging sustainability and zero waste – where possible, all food/drink vessels and utensils used at the Show must be compostable products. Compostable suppliers can be found at the following link:

Due to the high level of activity on the showgrounds on Saturday, set up is preferred on Friday.

Show Set-Up & Security
Security is on site from 5.00pm Wednesday to 8.30am Monday.
Sites are ready for set-up from 9.00am Wednesday.
If accessing the site after normal business hours, gate security will need to see your vehicle pass and there will be no staff on site.
Sites will be marked out and labelled as per the site map.
Saturday set-up must be completed by 8.00am. All non-display vehicles must be moved off site by 8.15am.
Sites can not be packed down before 4.30pm.
All sites are to be cleared by 5pm Monday following the Show.

Admission can be paid for at the gate on Show Day at $10 each OR additional WRISTBANDS can be ordered and paid for here

Vehicle passes
Site price includes one vehicle pass. Vehicles are not allowed on site without a vehicle pass. This includes for deliveries and pre-show set-up when security is on site. The main gate on Show Day is one way (IN) only – there is NO EXIT OUT the main gate before 4.30p.m. Parking for additional staff and exit out before the Show closes is via the Museum carpark, entry/exit on SH14.

Housekeeping
• Keep work spaces clean and tidy to reduce hazards.
• Chemicals used for cleaning must be in their original containers and kept away from children and others. Exhibitors are solely responsible for any hazardous substances they bring to the Show, and its storage.
Exhibits
• Keep obstacles away from public access areas.
• Displays need to be secure and clearly visible.
• Guy ropes should be clearly identified and pegs covered to prevent trips/falls.
• Hot water urns/jugs must be on a firm surface, not able to fall or spill/burn anyone.
Electrical Safety
• Ensure all cords, plugs & equipment are safe, placed away from traffic & people movement.
• Each exhibitor should use a 15 AMP extension lead, no more than 30m long with no joins.
• Electrical equipment should be fit for purpose and carry a current safety test tag.
Gas Bottles/Fuel Storage/Combustible Materials/Cooking
• All gas bottles and fuel storage is to be in accordance with HSNO regulations.
• A current, certified Fire Extinguisher must be on site if cooking or if there are combustible materials on your site.

NO VEHICLE MOVEMENT ON THE DAY

No vehicle movements are allowed in the trade area of the Show between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Saturday. The main gate on Show Day is one way IN and there is NO EXIT OUT that gate before 4.30pm. The speed limit on the grounds is 5km p/h. Stay on accessways. Do not drive over other sites.
OBSERVE ALL SIGNAGE ON THE GROUND
Please note and follow all signage on the day, particularly bio security notices, directional and safety signs.

ZERO WASTE

Whangarei A&P Show encourages all trade site holders to think about how you can reducing waste before coming to the Show.
Please ensure:
No plastic straws.
No single use plastic bottles. Only provide drinks in recyclable bottles or aluminium cans. (The public can bring their own water bottles and refill at the Show.)
Use the ‘sustainability hub’ at either end of the Food Avenue. This will include recycling and compost, along with signage and volunteers educating what goes into each bin.
Take away any rubbish that you bring onsite, only leaving recyclable materials onsite. We are happy to recycle cardboard.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

First Aid kits are located inside Barge Events Centre. The ambulance and first aid personnel are located on the hill in the centre of the Showgrounds adjacent to the carpark, middle of Showgrounds. Emergency phone number 021 478 655.
FIRE & EVACUATION
In the event of an emergency needing evacuation, don’t panic, calmly walk to nearest safe exit point. In a lock down emergency situation you will hear 3 blasts of a whistle. If you hear this go immediately to the closest lock down meeting point to you: the top white shed, the bottom green shed or Barge Showgrounds Events Centre.
